Is it OK to add Essential Oils to an Evaporative Cooler (Swamp Cooler)? - swamp cooler diffuser

I recently bought a Sunpentown evaporative cooler (also known swamp) cooler. For those who know is the cooling and essential oils: it is OK to a few drops of lavender oil (Exodus) to add the ingress of water ice +? I suppose what worries me most is the essential oil may damage the inner plastic. If you essential oils in the SA Cooler, seem to be a broadcaster :-) Nice.
