Jim is very clean carbs, but at least once a year or so, a powerhead cleaning as a tuner-engine, carbon deposits, which are normal for a two-stroke engine clean. Large amounts of carbon accumulation can lead to piston ring and cylinder wall scored jammed fan motor.
I like cleaning Seafoam, but as mentioned, if you are having problems carb, it is better to disassemble and clean thoroughly.
