Injury to Tailbone? - how long does a coccyx injury last

I think I hurt my coccyx (tailbone) ... it hurts to sit or to emphasize that the area in any way. (Something like a finger stuck diffraction) in my head is heavy. = /
If it's important for your reply, the fencers I am very competitive, but should be no correlation with my pain. I do not remember how it happened, but it started last Thursday.
I would say to someone with experience in this field to me, what kind of treatment or care, that I can do to give the region a new impetus. (How long it typically takes again, anyway?)
